Accounts & Evaluations

Why do all of my accounts show as Apex, even the ones I’ve won?

That usually means it’s still an evaluation account. Check the one-day pass rules. If not, it may need to go through the 7-day rule. Give it 24 hours for the certificate to appear.

Once I activate a PA account, do I need to cancel my evaluation subscription manually?

No. Once you pay for the PA account (lifetime option recommended), the evaluation is automatically canceled when Apex updates accounts during business hours.

I blew my PA account and see my evals still active. Do I need to cancel them?

If you blew your PA, you’ll need to start an eval again. For specifics, check Apex’s FAQ or contact their support.

Memberships & Subscriptions

Should I purchase lifetime or monthly for PA accounts?

Lifetime is recommended (but it’s personal preference).

Technical Issues (NinjaTrader, R|Trader, Contracts)

I’m seeing errors like 'buy order stop price must be above trade price.' What do I do?

This can be caused by account size, contracts, or connection issues. Try disabling and re-enabling. Always close NinjaTrader at the end of the day and restart the next morning to clear cache and roll contracts forward.

My connection is yellow after setting up an Apex eval. What should I check?

Make sure R|Trader has market data + plug-ins enabled, and NinjaTrader connection is set to 'plug-in mode.' Once connected correctly, you shouldn’t need to touch it again.

I have both an Apex eval and a Topstep funded account. Can I run both at once?

No. NinjaTrader only allows one Rithmic connection at a time. Topstep also restricts running multiple connections.

My indicators changed. Where is TSSuperTrend?

It’s now renamed Omega Trend.

My contracts aren’t updating (e.g., ES updated but NQ hasn’t).

Type the symbol (e.g., NQ) into the search bar in NinjaTrader and select the new contract.

I reinstalled NinjaTrader and my bots aren’t working. Why?

A reinstall changes your machine ID. Email support with the new ID and allow 24–48 hours for activation.

Algo Use & Settings

Do the algos work on volume charts?

Yes, they work on volume charts. If trades aren’t triggering, double-check your chart volume setting and parameters.

Why didn’t my algo close at my DailyProfit target (e.g., $1,500)?

Sometimes it needs to exceed the target slightly before closing. Be patient and let the algo finish.

Can I run the same account on multiple strategies?

Yes — but not on the same ticker. Example: you can run ES and NQ on the same account, but not two strategies on ES.

My algos didn’t take trades in Playback testing. Why?

Possible causes: wrong date range, incorrect chart/data series, playback vs live settings, or simply no trades triggered in that window. Troubleshoot step by step.

Trading Rules & Payouts

Can I request a payout from multiple PAs?

Yes, each PA account is treated individually (check your prop firm’s payout rules).

What is the '30% rule' for payouts?

Keep trading normally. The math is individual and depends on how you manage stops, exits, and rules. Don’t stress until you’re payout-ready.

For eval accounts, should I target $3,100 instead of $3,000?

Yes — fees can prevent you from hitting the $3,000 pass mark. Target $3,100 to ensure passing.

I’m just $50 short of the $3,000 eval pass. What should I do?

Run a quick manual trade, turn on an algo for the remainder, or use the Omega Squeeze indicator.

Travel & Setup

Can I run algos from another country or device?

Your license is tied to one machine ID. To trade remotely, use a laptop or a virtual server (costly but accessible anywhere). Future updates will move to email-based authorization.

Do I need the same operating system when traveling?

No, but keep recommended system specs. A virtual server is the cleanest solution.

Internet & Performance

My algo missed trades due to 'market data fail.' Why?

This usually means weak internet. Upgrade your provider or use a reliable backup (e.g., hotspot).

My algos aren’t triggering. Could it be time zone?

Yes. NinjaTrader must be set to Eastern Standard Time (EST). Go to Tools → Settings → General → Time Zone.
